Blaine air permeability apparatus

The Blaine air-permeability apparatus with two measuring cells is used for determining the specific surface area of powder materials, especially cement. A definite quantity of air is drawn through of bed of cement of definite porosity value. The rate of airflow is determined by the pore volume in the bed, which is a function of the size of particles.
The measurement method for determination of material fineness using the Blaine apparatus is defined in the standards:
STN EN 196-6 Methods of testing cement. Part 6: Determination of fineness;
ASTM C204-18e1 Standard Test Methods for Fineness of Hydraulic Cement by Air-Permeability Apparatus.
